Québec Congress Center

The Quebec City Convention Centre is a conference center located in Quebec City, on Parliament Hill in Quebec.

The Society of the Quebec City Convention Centre is a Crown corporation created by 15 June 1993 with a mandate to manage, operate and market the Québec City Convention Centre.

In January 1994, the governments of Quebec and Canada announced an investment of $ 81.3 million for the construction of a convention center in Quebec City, replacing the City Centre des congrès de Québec built in 1974. The goal: recognize Quebec City as one of the most important congress destinations in North America.

Since its inauguration August 26, 1996, the Québec City Convention Centre has hosted to date more than 2000 events that generated 2.5 million overnight stays and an economic impact of $ 1.3 billion in the Quebec City area. Today, in addition to generating significant economic, social and intellectual spinoffs for Quebec, radiates the Convention Centre on the international stage for the excellence of its customer service and innovative actions for sustainable development.

In 2006, the Québec City Convention Centre gets the top spot as the best convention center in the world by AIPC (International Association of Congress Centre). He previously was ranked third in 2003.

On 17 June 2011, confident in the future prospects for business tourism, the Quebec government agreed to invest $ 36 million in a project of expansion of the Québec City Convention Centre, a beneficial project for the influence of the Capitale-Nationale and all of Quebec. In addition to generating some $ 100 million in economic benefits annually, the expansion will allow the Centre to position itself in the forefront convention centers in Canada.
