The Bassin Louise during Plein Art

Louise Basin is a marina located in the borough of La Cité-Limoilou in Quebec City.

The basin has a size of 1 km long and 250 m on average. A lock allows access to the St. Lawrence River. The marina is managed by the Port of Quebec.

“Having 1 km long by 250 m on average, this pool was built between 1877 and 1882 according to plans by the firm of Morris and British engineers Kinippe. The work was marked by the laying of the cornerstone by Princess Louise, the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria. This fact has often earned him the name “Princess Louise Basin” or “Basin Princess Louise.” ”

The site hosts 2008 Espace 400e at the quadricentenary Quebec.
