In 2008, as part of celebrations of the 400th anniversary of Quebec City, the event took place on the Plains of Abraham, in downtown Quebec City and was attended by over 1,200 participants. Since then, the event has continued to grow, with more than 5,400 winter enthusiasts in 2015.
5 Scheduled events: cycling, running, cross country skiing, skating and snowshoeing. Pentathlon completed solo (one person makes all the trials), in tandem (2 person separate disciplines) or in teams of 3 to 5 people.
The components available to program the Pentathlon make this event accessible to all, families and friends, sportsmen of all levels and world class athletes.
The Pentathlon is made by NPO Pentathlon Group, whose mission is to develop innovative sports events, gatherers and great impacts, making experience emotions and enriching experiences.
Pentathlon group also organizes the Québec ITU Winter Triathlon, the first winter triathlon combining snowshoeing, skating and cross country skiing. The event sanctioned by the International Triathlon Union (ITU) was presented as a world premiere on the Plains of Abraham March 8, 2014.
